Exsil Pure 120 Biphenyl

Biphenyl-Modified Silica for Enhanced Aromatic and Shape Selectivity in Reversed-Phase HPLC

Exsil Pure 120 Biphenyl is a biphenyl-modified silica-based HPLC stationary phase based on ultra-high purity Exsil Pure 120 silica with a nominal pore size of 120 Å. The biphenyl ligand provides extended aromatic surface area, enabling strong π–π interactions in addition to hydrophobic retention.

This surface chemistry offers enhanced selectivity for aromatic, conjugated, and structurally rigid compounds compared to conventional C18 and phenyl phases. The 120 Å pore structure improves mass transfer and robustness, making Exsil Pure 120 Biphenyl well suited for demanding analytical separations where subtle structural differences must be resolved.

Controlled silica synthesis, very low metal content, and stable biphenyl bonding ensure reproducible retention, consistent selectivity, and reliable long-term performance in routine analysis and method development.

Exsil Pure 120 Biphenyl combines enhanced aromatic selectivity with high-purity silica and robust performance, making it an effective reversed-phase option for challenging small-molecule HPLC separations requiring advanced selectivity.
