Your data processed when using our website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to apply, unless statutory retention obligations prevent deletion or unless otherwise specified below.

3.1 Server Data

For technical reasons, in particular to ensure a secure and stable website, data are transmitted by your internet browser to us or to our webspace provider. These so-called server log files record the type and version of your browser, the operating system, the website from which you came to our site (referrer URL), the pages you visit on our website, the date and time of your access, as well as the IP address of the internet connection from which the use is made.

This data is stored temporarily, but not together with any other data about you.
The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in improving the stability, functionality, and security of our website.
The data will be deleted after no more than seven days unless further storage is required for evidentiary purposes. In such a case, all or part of the data will be excluded from deletion until the relevant incident has been conclusively resolved.

3.2 Cookies

3.2.1 Session Cookies
We use cookies. Cookies are small text files or other storage technologies that your internet browser places and stores on your device. These cookies store certain information about you, such as your browser or location data or your IP address.
This processing makes our website more user-friendly, efficient, and secure.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR insofar as the data processing is necessary for initiating or fulfilling a contract. In all other cases, it is based on our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
These session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.

3.2.2 Third-Party Cookies
Where applicable, we also use cookies from partner companies. These cookies may be stored for longer than a single session. The storage period depends on the respective settings and policies of the third-party providers and may range from a few minutes to several months. Further information – in particular on the legal basis and the purposes of data collection – can be found in the privacy policies and cookie policies of the respective providers (e.g., Mapbox, YouTube, Monotype).

3.2.3 Disabling Cookies
You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your browser settings or delete cookies that have already been stored. The steps required for this depend on the browser you are using. In the case of Flash cookies, you must change the settings of your Flash player. If cookies are blocked, some functions of our website may not be fully available.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis and optimization of our website.
We use Matomo with the “Automatically Anonymize Visitor IPs” function. In this process, your IP address is shortened by two bytes so that it can no longer be attributed to you or your internet connection.
