Exsil Pure 120 C1 (TMS)

Trimethylsilyl-Modified Silica for Controlled Reversed-Phase HPLC of Highly Polar Compounds

Exsil Pure 120 C1 (TMS) is a trimethylsilyl-modified silica-based HPLC stationary phase based on ultra-high purity Exsil Pure 120 silica with a nominal pore size of 120 Å. The short-chain C1 (TMS) bonded ligand provides very low hydrophobic surface coverage, resulting in weak reversed-phase retention and enhanced accessibility of the silica surface.

This surface chemistry enables controlled retention of very polar and moderately polar analytes that show insufficient retention on conventional C8 or C18 phases. The 120 Å pore structure improves mass transfer and robustness, delivering stable peak shapes and reproducible selectivity even under demanding analytical conditions.

Controlled silica synthesis, very low metal content, and stable TMS bonding ensure excellent batch-to-batch reproducibility and reliable chromatographic performance in routine analysis and method development.

Exsil Pure 120 C1 (TMS) provides controlled weak reversed-phase retention combined with high-purity silica and robust performance, making it an effective solution for challenging separations of highly polar small molecules.
