Exsil Pure 120 C8

Octyl-Modified Silica for Balanced Reversed-Phase HPLC Separations

Exsil Pure 120 C8 is an octyl-modified silica-based HPLC stationary phase based on ultra-high purity Exsil Pure 120 silica with a nominal pore size of 120 Å. The C8 bonded ligand provides moderate hydrophobic retention, offering a balanced alternative between short-chain phases and highly retentive C18 materials.

The 120 Å pore structure improves mass transfer and robustness, enabling efficient separations with excellent peak shape and reproducible retention behavior. Compared to C18 phases, Exsil Pure 120 C8 delivers reduced retention strength while maintaining high chromatographic efficiency, making it particularly suitable for compounds that are overly retained on longer-chain reversed-phase materials.

Controlled silica synthesis, very low metal content, and stable octyl bonding ensure consistent selectivity, excellent batch-to-batch reproducibility, and reliable long-term performance in routine analysis and method development.

Exsil Pure 120 C8 combines moderate hydrophobic selectivity with high-purity silica and robust chromatographic performance, making it a versatile reversed-phase option for small-molecule HPLC separations.
