Exsil Pure 120 Phenyl-SCX is a mixed-mode silica-based HPLC stationary phase combining phenyl functionality with strong cation-exchange (SCX) groups on ultra-high purity Exsil Pure 120 silica with a nominal pore size of 120 Å. This dual-interaction surface provides both aromatic π–π interactions and strong electrostatic retention of positively charged analytes.
The phenyl groups enhance selectivity for aromatic and conjugated structures, while the permanently charged sulfonic acid groups enable strong and stable cation-exchange interactions. This combination allows highly differentiated selectivity for basic, aromatic, and multifunctional compounds that are difficult to resolve using purely reversed-phase or ion-exchange materials.
The 120 Å pore structure improves mass transfer and robustness, delivering stable retention behavior, excellent peak shape, and reproducible chromatographic performance in demanding analytical workflows.
Controlled silica synthesis, very low metal content, and stable dual-ligand bonding ensure excellent batch-to-batch reproducibility and reliable long-term performance in routine analysis and method development.
Exsil Pure 120 Phenyl-SCX combines aromatic recognition with strong cation-exchange selectivity on a high-purity silica platform, making it a powerful mixed-mode solution for challenging small-molecule HPLC separations.
