Equisil BDS CPS

Base-Deactivated Cyano HPLC Column for Reproducible Polar Selectivity

Equisil BDS CPS is a high-performance HPLC column featuring a cyano-bonded stationary phase on base-deactivated silica (BDS). This combination provides moderate hydrophobic retention, enhanced polar selectivity, and excellent peak shape, particularly for basic, polar, and aromatic analytes. The base-deactivated surface reduces unwanted silanol interactions, improving reproducibility and robustness — especially in reversed-phase methods using low buffer concentrations or where acidic and basic compounds are present. Equisil BDS CPS is suitable for both reversed-phase and polar normal-phase applications.

Equisil BDS CPS offers versatile CN selectivity with improved deactivation – ideal for robust and reproducible chromatography of polar, basic, and moderately hydrophobic compounds.

Key Features

  • Cyano-bonded (CN) silica with base deactivation – USP L10

  • Balanced retention: moderate hydrophobicity with polar selectivity

  • Suppressed silanol activity for better peak shape and reproducibility

  • Applicable in reversed-phase and normal-phase mode

  • Available in 5 µm

Typical Applications

  • Fast separations of polar analytes and aromatic isomers

  • Reversed-phase LC of basic or ionizable compounds

  • Normal-phase separations using non-aqueous eluents

  • Method development requiring orthogonal selectivity to C18
