Exsil Pure 120 PFP is a pentafluorophenyl-modified silica-based HPLC stationary phase based on ultra-high purity Exsil Pure 120 silica with a nominal pore size of 120 Å. The PFP bonded ligand introduces unique electronic properties that enable multiple interaction mechanisms beyond hydrophobic retention, including π–π, dipole–dipole, and hydrogen bonding interactions.
This distinct surface chemistry provides enhanced selectivity for aromatic, halogenated, polar, and structurally similar compounds compared to conventional C18 phases. The 120 Å pore structure improves mass transfer and robustness, resulting in stable retention behavior, excellent peak shape, and high reproducibility in demanding analytical workflows.
Controlled silica synthesis, very low metal content, and stable PFP bonding ensure consistent selectivity, excellent batch-to-batch reproducibility, and reliable long-term performance in routine analysis and method development, including LC–MS-compatible applications.
Exsil Pure 120 PFP combines distinctive electronic selectivity with high-purity silica and robust chromatographic performance, making it a powerful reversed-phase option for challenging small-molecule HPLC separations where alternative selectivity is required.
