ReproSil BDS C8

Base-Deactivated C8 Column for Balanced Retention and Enhanced Peak Shape

ReproSil BDS C8 from Dr. Maisch HPLC GmbH is a fully porous, high-purity silica HPLC column with a base-deactivated octyl bonded phase. The BDS (Base-Deactivated Silica) surface treatment significantly reduces residual silanol activity, ensuring sharper peaks, less tailing, and consistent retention for basic, polar, and ionizable analytes. With its moderate hydrophobic retention, ReproSil BDS C8 is ideal for compounds requiring shorter run times and faster equilibration compared to C18 phases, while still offering excellent selectivity and resolution.

ReproSil BDS C8 columns from Dr. Maisch HPLC GmbH combine balanced retention with improved peak shape – the versatile choice for high-performance reversed-phase HPLC.

Key Features:

  • Fully porous, ultra-pure silica with 120 Å pore size

  • Base-deactivated C8 bonding – USP L7 classification

  • Enhanced peak symmetry for basic and polar analytes

  • Moderate retention for faster separations

  • Manufactured and QC-tested by Dr. Maisch HPLC GmbH

  • Available in 3 µm and 5 µm particle sizes

Typical Applications:

  • Basic pharmaceutical compound analysis with reduced tailing

  • Faster reversed-phase separations in QC and R&D

  • Method development requiring alternative selectivity to C18

  • Gradient and isocratic HPLC for polar and non-polar analytes
