ReproSil BDS Phenyl

Base-Deactivated Phenyl Column for Aromatic Selectivity and Improved Peak Shape

ReproSil BDS Phenyl from Dr. Maisch HPLC GmbH is a fully porous, high-purity silica HPLC column with a 120 Å pore size and a base-deactivated phenyl-bonded phase. The BDS (Base-Deactivated Silica) technology minimizes residual silanol activity, resulting in sharper peaks and less tailing, particularly for basic and polar analytes. The phenyl functionality provides π–π interactions in addition to hydrophobic retention, giving this phase orthogonal selectivity compared to alkyl phases like C18 or C8, making it highly suitable for the separation of aromatic compounds, isomers, and conjugated systems.

ReproSil BDS Phenyl columns from Dr. Maisch HPLC GmbH deliver aromatic selectivity with improved peak symmetry – the ideal choice for challenging reversed-phase separations requiring orthogonal selectivity.

Key Features:

  • Fully porous, ultra-pure silica with 120 Å pore size

  • Base-deactivated phenyl bonding – USP L11 classification

  • π–π interactions for aromatic and conjugated analytes

  • Enhanced peak shapes for basic and polar compounds

  • Manufactured and QC-tested by Dr. Maisch HPLC GmbH

  • Available in 3 µm and 5 µm particle sizes

Typical Applications:

  • Separation of aromatic pharmaceuticals and intermediates

  • Isomeric compound resolution in method development

  • Analysis of polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)

  • Gradient and isocratic reversed-phase HPLC
