Ultrasep ES 100 RP4 is a silica-based HPLC column with a 100 Å pore size and a C4 (butyl) bonded phase. The short alkyl chains provide moderate hydrophobic retention, allowing faster elution compared to C8 or C18 phases while still retaining non-polar analytes more strongly than very short-chain phases such as C1 or C3.
