Exsil 100 Octyl-AB

C8-Modified Silica with Embedded Amide for Enhanced Selectivity and Peak Shape

Exsil 100 Octyl-AB is an octyl-modified silica-based HPLC stationary phase with an embedded amide functionality, built on high-purity Exsil 100 silica with a nominal pore size of 100 Å. The combination of a C8 hydrophobic ligand and a polar amide group results in a balanced surface chemistry that provides both hydrophobic retention and additional polar interaction sites.

The embedded amide functionality improves peak shape and retention stability for polar and basic analytes by reducing undesired silanol interactions. Compared to conventional C8 phases, Exsil 100 Octyl-AB offers enhanced selectivity, improved peak symmetry, and greater robustness across a wide range of mobile phase conditions.

Controlled silica synthesis and stable surface modification ensure excellent batch-to-batch reproducibility, consistent selectivity, and reliable chromatographic performance in both routine analysis and method development.

Exsil 100 Octyl-AB combines moderated hydrophobic retention with enhanced polar selectivity, making it an effective reversed-phase solution for challenging small-molecule separations requiring improved peak shape and robustness.
