ReproSil Chiral-ZM is a silica-based HPLC stationary phase coated with tris-(3-chloro-4-methylphenyl)carbamate cellulose, developed for enantioselective separations under normal-phase conditions. The cellulose derivative with 3-chloro-4-methylphenyl carbamate substituents provides a fine-tuned combination of electronic and steric effects, allowing highly efficient and selective chiral recognition for a broad spectrum of racemic compounds.
The chiral recognition mechanism of ReproSil Chiral-ZM is based on multiple molecular interactions, including hydrogen bonding, π–π stacking, dipole–dipole interactions, and steric complementarity between the analyte and the chiral selector. The chlorine and methyl substituents on the aromatic rings influence the electronic distribution of the carbamate groups, resulting in distinct selectivity and high enantioresolution performance across diverse chemical classes. Coated on high-purity spherical silica, the phase offers excellent mechanical stability, reproducible retention, and a long column lifetime. Its robust diastereoselective surface enables sharp peak shapes and consistent calibration, even during routine operation. Designed for use with standard non-aqueous mobile phases such as n-hexane/alcohol mixtures, ReproSil Chiral-ZM ensures reliable, precise, and repeatable results in both analytical and preparative workflows.
ReproSil Chiral-ZM combines cellulose-based chiral recognition with the refined selectivity of tris-(3-chloro-4-methylphenyl)carbamate functionality – the reliable choice for accurate, high-resolution, and reproducible enantioselective separations in normal-phase chromatography.
Attractive alternative to CHIRALCEL® OZ-H (Daicel®) and Lux Cellulose-2 (Phenomenex™).
