ReproSil-Pur Basic C5 is a silica-based HPLC column with pentyl bonded chemistry on high-purity silica. With shorter alkyl chains than C8 or C18, it provides moderate hydrophobic retention and faster elution, making it particularly suitable for analytes requiring reduced retention times or complementary selectivity in method development.

As part of the ReproSil-Pur Basic series, the column is specially optimized for basic and polar compounds. Reduced silanol activity ensures sharp peak shapes and improved reproducibility, especially for amines, alkaloids, and pharmaceuticals prone to peak tailing on conventional phases.
